Objects in Motion

There is no such thing as “still life.” Behind the apparent stillness and solidness of ordinary objects is the extraordinary true nature of reality; constant waves of motion and vast spaces between seemingly solid particles occupying very small interconnected territories.  Images of everyday objects in motion, especially those with reflective surfaces capturing the light and the contexts in which they “live”, create awareness of what we can’t see but actually experience all the time.

How fascinating that the 13th century mystic and poet, Rumi, knew long before quantum physicists that there is a world behind the world and that all life is moving! As author Leonard Schlain has observed, advances in art prefigure new ideas in physics every time.

Behind every atom of this world, hides an infinite universe.

- Rumi
